Death of George William Strain 1914/15

The date of death given on George's headstone is 31st January 1915 and he was buried early in February. However, an open lookup on the death index throws up 4th quarter 1914 in registration district Alcester. The whole family agrees upon the date of death but one person says she has a note 'Isle of Wight' alongside details of the death. |

Have you got the death certificate? It might shed some light on the matter there could have been an inquest etc |

The death registerd dec 1914 is the same details as the one in 1915 eg, vol page number but no image avalable on ancestry, but they may? be the same death but recorded wrong by ancestry |

I don't have a death certificate but a family member has a cause of death (pneumonia) so I ssume she has one. I did wonder if it's been wrongly recorded by Ancestry. |
