You're welcome,Liz. Glad it's sorted. I know what you mean about having a mental block with certain families!!

Is there not some sort of box to tick that says mark question as answered? I don't usually start threads,so I have no idea.....

Hi Maureen

Thank you your correct it is Carden. On the son's birth certificate it looked clearly like Cardew but looking again its possibly a flouncy N. I usually check variations but I think I have just had a mental block with this one. Looking online at Carden a quick glance sees a family with similar first names so I will carry on again now.

Thanks again.

Liz

As this is my first post how do I now mark this as completed. :-D

Liz,

You are the one with the certificate. How certain are you of the names?

Our RB was setting things up so that we could all help.

However,I think the name might be Carden-not Cardew.

Hi RutlandBelle

Thank you for your updates., However my email states I could not find them prior to the marriage. The information you show is what I already have. I cannot find any record prior to them marrying.

Any ideas where to look. :-D

Hi I am trying to find my great, Great grandparents but as i'm looking for Davies's in Wales its not easy.

I'm looking for Frederick Davies who married Elizabeth Phillips (nee Cardew) in Bangor, Flint in March 1892 both were 32 at the time. I cannot trace either of them prior to this date. The only Cardew's seem to live in Cornwall & Devon and I have no way of locating if they came from that area.

From the marriage certificate I can see that Fredericks father was robert Davies ( Builder) and Elizabeth's father was William Cardew ( coal merchant) Margaret Edith Cardew was one of the signatories on the marriage certificate.

Any help would be appreciated.
