I find him in 1881 and 1891 as Stephen Williams b1874 Elham Kent.

Yes this is them, Stephen William Greenfield was born 10th April 1874 Camden Town N.W.1. (Pancras) parents were Stephen Greenfield and Emma Russell b1854 Somers Town , N.W.1. (Pancras) father Stephen b1852 died 1875 and Emma remarried to Thomas Williams b1851 Shoreditch.

My Greenfields lived around Albany Street Camden Town.

I did find a William Stephens b1874 but down as being born in Rainham Essex in 1911, the street he was living in is the same area as my Greenfields lived in and my dad told me we had family living in Albany Street NW1.

This is the 1911 Stanley is referring to. This Stephen has no middle name it seems though.
