Yes, that is the same one that i have. James didnt get married until 1882. He married Margaret Taylor, and went on to have my Grandfather Richard Mainwaring

I have his marriage cert, it says his father is Richard Mainwaring. I then looked up Richards Marriage which says his wife is Mary Doherty. On the census i have it says James parents are Richard & Mary. They are the only Mainwarings in Liverpool.

His marriage cert too should name his father .if known,

Well his birth may not have been registered .It wasnt till 1875 that it became compulsory with a fine for late or non registration.

If you have found him on any census with his parents then you can look for their marriage on FreeBMD

After ordering birth cert for James Mainwaring, I have now recieved it, but it isnt the right one. I knew by the census he was born in Liverpool. Has anyone any ideas of what i can do next? For any help i will be grateful.

Could someone please lookup the birth of James Mainwaring born Liverpool about 1859/1860. Ive tried free bmd but couldnt find him. His father was Richard Mainwaring waiting comfirmation of mothers maiden name.
