Hi am looking for a EVAN and SARAH SAMUEL, should have daughters amelia, evelyn and blodwen with them.
living in the pyle or kenfig hill area, of mid glamorgan.

i have found their marriage June qtr 1908 so surely Thomas was not Sarah`s son, and i cant find Evan in another marriage,
any ideas peeps, or have i just lost the plot ?

If this is the marriage you mean:

Evans Sarah Ann Bridgend 11a 1441 Jun 1908
Samuel Evan John Bridgend 11a 1441 Jun 1908

Then it suggests that Thomas might be Sarah Ann's illegitimate son, and they claimed they'd been married for 7 yrs in 1911 to save face?

But then spoilt it all by naming Thomas as Evans and the girls as Samuel!

Or maybe Sarah Ann was the widow of a Mr Evans when she married Evan John Samuel in 1908, and had a son Thomas from that first marriage?

There is a possible birth for a Thomas Evans in Bridgend in 1905

Looking at the original census page, it does look as though 3 has been put against 'years married' for Evan John, then scribbled out.

Something, possibly 3 yrs has been put against Sarah Ann, then emphatically overwritten with a 7.
