Looking for information on a Frederick James Wright born approx 1822 in London. Came to Australia, married Hannah Norton/Browning in 1848. All I know is he was killed by a falling tree in 1875. This is information I received from Young Family History. I would like to know more about his family before coming to Australia. I have all the information on his marriage and children. Thanking you, who ever can help. :-)

Thank you Chris, either one of these could be what I'm looking for. I don't think my ancestor was a convict so I'll look and see if he came out as a free settler. Thanks for the help, Alana

Do you have his marriage certificate that hopefully shows his father's name?

Did they marry in Australia or England?

When did he go to Australia?

Hi Lynne, for some reason Frederick dropped the his first name and went by James in most cases. I have a book written by Esme Smith on the Browning Family who Hannah was related to. Hannah marriad Thomas Norton before marrying James Wright, hens the name Norton . :-)

The reason it said they married in Brisbane is because Queensland was part of NSW up until about 1854.
