Who were her parents Mike, as you know ages did not seem to matter much in those days.
Just been having a route round and the marriage cert I mentioned for 1914 - the witnesses were Joseph Jenkins and Martha Ashcroft.

I have found a Joseph, but his father is Thomas and a Gardner (a bit posh for my lot - sorry I don't mean to sound awful), but the address for Joseph when he married a Mary Jane Jones in 1903 was 30 ? Burlington Street - again the same street name my grandad gave on his marriage cert. his was 47 - this number according to the electoral voting reg did not exist!!
There must have been hundreds of Jenkins living in the Everton area, and I bet many in the same street, glad I was not the postman.

Hi
Sorry I am late getting back only it did not show on my threads that there had been any replies it was only when I went back into finding Ancestors that I could see there was actually some

With regards to my grandfather, the birth mentioned above he was the son of James and Sara Ann (nee Messenger) - and I have seen the records of this at Liverpool which say this James married Annie Reynolds in 1910. I have over the last year had numerous people on GR trying to help.
James my grandfather said his father was also called James on his marriage cert - but who knows.

It was only because I got the 1911 Census for my Grt grandmother (Charlotte Ellen's mother and mother in-law to James) that I came accross the lady called Sarah Jenkins born c.1892 in Liverpool - I cant find her.

What I have found is a marriage for a Sarah Jane Jenkins, age 21, makes her birth c.1893 to Henry Donaldson at Christ Church Everton in February 1914 - and guess what her father is also James Jenkins, occ Carter, same as my grandfather's??

So this is what makes me think this is more than a coincidence, but where were they born and who were there parents. The only thing I know for sure is my grandad married in 1902, was on the 1911 Census and I have his death cert.

Apologise again for being late don't know why the thread said no replies

Hi
I have a problem that I hope someone out there can solve/help.
Yesterday two kind people on GR sent me a copy of the 1911 Liverpool Census for a Hannah Dodd, also living with Hannah and her daughter Violet was a Sarah Jenkins age 19 (c.1892), single, occ ragpicker, born in Liverpool.

I have spent since then my time looking for this Sarah, cannot find her anywhere. What puzzles me is that my grandfather James Jenkins born 1878/1880 in liverpool, according to his marriage cert - cannot find his birth either. But this Hannah Dodd on the 1911 Census was the mother of Charlotte Ellen Dodd - James wife.

Does anyone think Is it a coincidence that suddely I now find a Sarah Jenkins living with Hannah Dodd in 1911, or do you think she could even be James Jenkins sister?????

Any help would be very much appreciated.
