George Pickup, Pickup Family

I have a GGGG Grandfather, George Pickup, born c1780 and married to Sarah. They had a daugher, Elizabeth, who married into the McLoed side of my family.

Despite the unusual name of Pickup, i seem to be drawing a blank on George.

Any ideas on potential family links, or indeed if anyone has George in their family tree somewhere.

Tree on Ancestry but no supporting documents. Has George married to Sarah Stanfield with daughter Elizabeth born 1809, Herts. This seem to be the one?

Pickup is far from unusual.

There are hundreds listed on freebmd, mostly a Northern name.

Hello All... I am alittle confused.. My ancestor Betty Trickett daughter of James Trickett - Margaret Holt. Born 1826 Lancashire. I believe i have found out she married a man called Elijah Pickup in Lumb Rossendale. Father James - Farmer - 12/02/1850 with a baptism of 10/04/1857... Would somebody be baptised after they got married.. i thought it would be before for religous purposes
