Well, I replied and it has been opened but I see Michael has not returned to this thread.

When I check back in my Contact list, I see that I first contacted him back in September of last year - he was querying the same names. I have tried to find those threads but my Advanced search facility seems to be up the proverbial shoot.

I sent one of my messages to Michael, letting him know about his replies and I have received the following pm.

I very much appreiciated the replies as they quite strongly pointed out all the errors that I have made during my research. Most of which is all anecdotal. My father had done most of the work and I am just trying to carry on. Being a shift worker at Sydney International Airport, makes it difficult to maintain an outlook on the website, so I can only drop in now and then.

I guess the main problem is not having much evidence to go on and being the other side of the world with limited funds is the searching of documents etc. Unlike the NSW BDM which matches names rather than indexes, I am finding it extremely hard to match indexes to names with the marriages in the GRO.

So if there is a distinct lack of response from myself to all the researchers, it is not so much that I am ignoring them, it is just finding the time to sit down and view the messages when I am at home (not all too often I'm afraid). So if you could please pass on my sincere thanks for their time and efforts. , - it really is very much appreiciated.

The only hard material I have is the certificate number of my Grandfather, Robert Lloyd Griffiths & Elizabeth Ann Lythgoe's marriage (Marriage Certificate Liverpool: 2094WD/2/461. Married in Christ Church, Everton - from my late father). I have yet to send for a copy.

Only birth for a Robert Lloyd Griffiths i can find is this one and it is not in Flintshire, also if you have the birth cert why are you unsure about the year of birth eg 23Mar1863/4

If the maiden name is unclear, why do you give it as Price?

Am trying to find any information of a marriage between John Griffiths (born c1837, Flintshire, Wales) & Mary Ann Price (born c1846?, Flintshire, Wales). The marriage may have taken place around 1857. One of their children (my Ggrandfather) was Robert Lloyd Griffiths, 23Mar1863/4, also born in Flintshire, Wales.

Any assistance greatly appreicated, as the info on Robert's birth certificate unclear as to mother's maiden name.
