i am looking for a william spittle born about 1647 i think in wednesbury west midlands not sure who he married but i do know one of his sons john spittle born 1706 is my gt x5or6 grandfather hope some one can help thanks lesley

I'm curious that you got back to 1647 but you don't know if John is your 5th or 6th . g. grandfather.
Also was William 59 when son John was born?

There are many Spittles born in Wednesbury, including a William in 1683. A more likely age for a Father?
I think it is going to be very easy to mix up generations by just using IGI evidence and nothing else.

If this is your main tree you should be viewing the filch from a Family History Center.You can also get a copy of anything you find ,which is nice to have .
