Can anyone help me find an Army or regimental no. for my ancestor?
Private Henry G Hitchcock of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Henry and Emily Hitchcock. Born in Colaton Raleigh in 1880. Wounded at the battle of Colenso 15 Dec 1899 at the age of 19.
I think he may have died in India 1904.
Have tried all the usual places like Boerwar.com any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Robin.

Thanks for reply Liz.
I did find this record but there doesn't seem to be a Army No. for him anywhere, not sure where to look now apart from going to Kew!
