Yes, the 2nd one is the correct one.

Something to keep in mind when searching the 1841 census -

Note:
In the 1841 Census a policy of rounding down ages was in place.

* As such people aged:
* 15-19 were recorded as 15;
* 20-24 were recorded as 20;
* 25-29 were recorded as 25;
* 30-34 were recorded as 30;
* 35-39 were recorded as 35;

It doesn't look as though this was applied to the 2nd one but the ages of Peter and Margaret in the 1st one definitely look as though they have been rounded.

Hi Lynski I found 2 Peter Henney's both born in Ireland both married to Mgt's both in the Wigton area but being about 10yrs apart in age the 1st Peter & Mgt [she was born in Scotland] did'nt have fam. at home & I did'nt find any other Henney's in the Wigton area, so I think I must favour the 2nd Peter & Mgt. Thanks for your input. Joan

I am looking for info on Peter Henney/Hannay who came from Ireland [RAMNISH] were ever this is! He came over to Scotland in the early part of the 1800's and eventually settled nr Wigton in Cumberland. he married Mgt ? from Scotland, & had a dau. Mary that married John Bell. I am lost to find out were in Ireland he came from! and what other family he had. :-S
