Find Ancestors

Hi wonder could anyone please help me?
I have a marriage certificate of my fathers uncle in 1897.On it is his name Ernest James Jones aged 23 batchelor work as a boiler maker his father is Edward Jones a fireworkmaker
bride is Emily Helen Fallen 22 spinster work as a collar her father is William Fallen a scaffolder
The marriage is at Bermondsey,Surrey
Now i have all the info on Ernest Jones but am having real difficulty finding Emilys birth or even finding her and her father on census could somebody please take a look maybe am just overlooking.I did think may have found her parents in 1871 which was a William and Ruth but then found this william had died in about 1881 and wasnt a scaffolder and surely it would have said on Ernest and Emilys marriage certificate that he was deceased??

Where does she give as her place of birth on 1901 and 1911 census ?

No, it wouldn't necessarily say he was deceased, unless someone had said that he was, or the question had been posed.

Ancestry has her surname as Faller

But her signature does look like Fallen

Place of birth is vital

Thanks for answering glitter baby just had a look on 1901 it says Ireland but havent got 1911 census,cant find her at all on 1891 they were married in 1897 and lived at same address 56 the grange, bermondsey,Surrey

Emily's birth may have just slipped under the radar for registration......there were no penalties until 1875..............

The official 1901 census is always worth bearing in mind, as one can search it by occupation..................
