Could he have been married twice as the 1872 one is Alexander Stephenson Wrack

It looks likely as he is the only person born with that name until 1917 cannot see him in 1871 or 1881 or a death for his 1st wife unless they were not living in this country?

Then if he married in 1872 and 1880 would have thought he would be in England or wales for those census

I can only see one born 1852 on ancestry and FMP

Yes there is a 1891 Census for the one born 1859 but they have the same children

I have found Alice & one of the children on the 1881 Census with her mother Mary Ann Horne but still no sign of Alexander
