Just to update, she married in islington 1938 had her first wedded child in westminster 1939 and second in islington 1943 not sure if this could help with the area of birth for her first child born between the region of 1932-1937 im guessing....

I know the child was a girl but il be honest its not spoken about within the family, its a big secret i know because my parents told me but my nan doesnt speak about it.

its before 1939 as thats the year she had her first wedded child with my grandad after they married. so i presume as she was born in 1918 that its between 1932 and 1937 to be honest

im sure its around the same area and that she was not married before. She was 21 when she had my grandfather so i presume she would of been between say 15 and 19 when she had the other daughter?

If you do not know the childs name or where and when she was born it could be difficult I'm affraid

thank you all for your messages, it could be it? do any of you know where orsett, eath is ? or is it now known as somewhere else? i do know my nan elizabeth had a child out of wedlock.... to an unknown man.... im not sure if anyone could help locate this child, it was a girl and she lived, she has since deceased but none of us know any further information. All i know is it was not thought upon greatly and when my nan married my grandfather he would not allow her child to be part of the family and she went (??) its very upsetting but i suppose something they just did back then :(

and thank you Ann il bare that in mind, i just dont want to upset her, she's 94 and just gone into a home now

hope you donlt mind me saying this, but an aunt of mine died last year aged 104 - she had dementia and had no idea of where she was but she was very much aware of her roots and liked to talk of when she was a child and kept asking to go home which she thought was just down the road - in fact it was hundreds of miles away, so your great grandmother may indeed have some info for you and might like revisiting the past

As you have found her birth, the next step would be to buy the certificate.
That would give you her parents names.

I have her birth information :-

Elizabeth S cook in quarter 3, then it is ORSETT ref 4a 789 mmn Bull

This shows mothers maiden name of BULL its her mother and father i seek, but this early on i cannot seem to find anything? I do not have full ancestry access.

My great nan is still living but has dementia so i feel its unfair to quiz her
