Dear everyone,

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago about finding out who my grandfathers parents were and took your advice and brought his birth certificate! it has helped me so much in discovering much more about my grandfathers family and for that I am thankful :)

HOWEVER! I am now stuck once more because my great grandparents William Cole and Alice Fines never got married and I am trying to discover more my great father William Cole born approx 1885 - 1900 I am unsure about this if I am honest but have tried to relocate the real William Cole but am failing miserably!

There are two William Cole's born in Nottingham around the same time i.e close dates together 1892 and 1899 and they both died in the 1940s. I do know my great grand father died before my dad was born as my dad told me this. But I don't know, which one it is! I wish the next census would just come out now. The only other information that I have confidence in is that my great grand father was a 'General Labourer', as it says this on my grandfathers birth cerfiticate who was born in 1929.

Any advice on working out how to discover who my great grandfather was would be greatly appreciated and again thank you all ever so much for all your help with my last question.xxxx

Could you add this information to your previous query, so we can use what was found there and not duplicate research? (And then delete this).
Thank-you.
