My sons dad was irish ( now dead)... On his dads birth certificate it gives me his parents names but this is where i am stuck...
My ex partners birth certificate shows his parents were a Thomas MULLIN and Esther MULLIN NEE TALBOT...but on my ex partners death certificate he is listed as MULLEN...

I know Noel's parents had 3 other children , Pauline, Etta and a son Poric( if thats the right spelling)... Noel was the youngest of the 4 Born 1957 in Galway, Ireland...

Can anyone help me please as my son wants to know more about his family in Ireland

Hello Tracey, it's possible that the person registering the death mis-spelled the surname.

If it's any help, the other brother's name would probably be Padraig (the pronunciation of the name can vary).

I know that Thomas and Esther Mullen both died some years before Noel did... so am wondering if i could find there death and maybe find their parents to start the tree off nicely

Thank you xx

Hi Tracey
You need to get Thomas and Esther's marriage certificate which will give you both of their father's names and then you can look for their births. I did look for their births but couldn't pinpoint either for definite. Some of the girls here are excellent researchers in Irish records so hopefully one of them will be able to help you more than I can.

Morning Astra

Thank you, for your time on this and i will order the certificate... Do i order it in the normal way??? or do i need to order it from Ireland???

Hopefully some of the "girls" here will pick this thread up and will be able to help me then if they are excellent in Irish records... Because i have no idea where to go with the irish Thank you again x

Hi Tracey

You can't order irish records through the GRO in the normal way. I will try and find someone who knows how to order and point them in the direction of this thread.

There's a tree on ancestry that have this family, according to there tree Martin not Robert & Jane child, they have a Margaret born 1903 living with a George Talbot in Westmeath 1911. They do not have a Esther born to Robert & Jane.
