MYSTERY WOMAN JULIA PATEMAN 1875

Please please please can anyone help me in my search regarding information on Julia Pateman supposedly born abt 1875 although on the 1881 census she is recorded as being 6 years of age it actually looks like the entry reads "11".

According to the census born in Kentish Town, Middx to parents William and Johanna Pateman, siblings Nellie (who is in fact Ellen) Sophia Sarah, Harry and Mary Ethel Bridget. I cannot find any confirmation of her birth, death, marriage - she doesnt appear (to my knowledge) on any other census. I am stumped.

The only information I have found on a Julia Pateman is a court record on 6th January 1885 where she has been found guilty of Larceny and sentenced to 3 months hard labour. I dont know how to find out further information to ascertain if she is my relative (should I really be admitting to this relative ha ha ha).

I have even spent many hours sifting through deportation records trying to establish if she was sent to the colonies. Nothing!

PLEASE PLEASE can someone help, perhaps I am just being stupid and have missed something. But this is giving me some serious sleepness nights.

If she is 11 in 1881 she would be on the 1871 census with the family.
Have you got the family in 1871?
If they were not married then, is she under the Mother's maiden name?

I have the father on the 1871 census, Johanna and William werent married at that time.

She would certainly not have been sent to the Colonies for a criminal offence as transportation ended many years before she was even born.

How do you arrive at Julia - apart from the census what information do you have on her?
Have you traced back her parents through all the censuses?
