I also came across a family who lived on the boundary of two enumeration districts, and they were enumerated twice - once at their front door, then again at their back door - unfortunately, I've forgotten the details.

Yes it did happen. people listed all these usually living at home even when one was actually away census night. For example one of my grt x umpteen!! grandmothers was a monthly nurse, she was listed in 1871 at her home address as well as at the new mums family home who she was looking after . Goodness knows where she was actually Probably at the new mums house but ??

Hello Michelle - would that be Ann Selina Terry?

I thought the name was familiar from your other Terry threads.

Hi,

I have come across several examples of this happening !!

The person is working away, or staying away from home, but has also been put down with the family!! - NOT unusual !!

Hope this helps.
