The married status looks like a W to me that means she is a widow.

There is no mention of a husband on the previous page

Demelza Report 26 Jul 2011 11:07

We have found our ancestor, Barbery Ayers (Barbara) on the 1851 census living in St George the Martyr, Holborn. (Or is that Finsbury?)

We do not know the name of her husband (which may NOT be Ayers)

On the census page she is the top entry and her reationship to head of the household is described as 'wife.' From this we assume that her hubby is listed on the bottom of the previous page as head of the household - the family had been split across two consequetive pages of the census book.

We are desperate to find out the name and details of her husband. I would really appreciate it if someone could work out how we can view the previous page - or do the look up for us. Thanking you in advance.

Here ar the details:

St. George the Martyr, (Holborn/Finsbury?) 41 115

6 Devonshire Street, Barbery Ayres, Relationship to head of household: wife age 26, place of birth Hoe, Norfolk.

(Her sister, Mary Ann and a a family called the Cullens are also staying there.)

The number at the bottom of the page is H.O. 107/1513.

Any help would be appreciated.
