thank you both so much. She had lived in India, Malta and Gibraltar so I wonder if she travelled out from there. But thanks for that return journey.

Hi,
I am hoping someone will be able to either look up on passenger lists or give some advice on how to find someone who travelled to South Africa during the early 1900's.

My gt.gt.grandmother Mary Hannah Uings nee Gadd came to UK from either India or Malta and when her husband William Uings died, she left her two sons with her parents inWorcester, UK and became a governess/nanny to a family in South Africa of which I have a photo, but would like to know of how she travelled, etc.

She was born 1859, William died 1910 so I assumed she would have travelled afer then.

Any help would be fantastic.

Thanks
Belinda.
