Just some things which don't add up. On the 1841 census it has William aged 20. These ages are rounded down, not up so that would mean that he was born at least before 1821. Also Elizabeth is entered as 1827 whilst it is not beyond possibility but that would mean that Thomasina would be at least 51 when she gave birth but could be older as she is entered as 65 but she could be up to 69. -jl

Hi all!

Stuck again. I recently signed up for a 14 day trial on Ancestry, as I was at the stage I needed access to the West Yorkshire Parish records.

James Wilks was my 4x grandfather. He was a farmer in Farnley in Leeds and married Thomasina/Tomasin/Tomasina(plus other spellings). Thomasina was born in the year 1776 according to the 1841 census and they had 9 children at least. these had been tricky to find;

John Wilk 1802 - marries Susannah Gaunt(1804) in 1826
Elizabeth Wilks 1804 - guessing died?
Sarah Wilks 1807 -guessing died?
James Wilks 1809 - ???
Stephen Wilks 1811 - Clothier and alive in 1841
Sarah Wilks 1815 - ???
William Wilks 1818 - guessing died?
William Wilks 1824 - alive in 1841
Elizabeth Wilks 1827 - My 3x grandmother - died 1905.

What I would like to find is James and Thomasina's marriage. I have spent the last two nights searching and I can't find it! Does this mean they weren't married???

Also, I cant find the deaths of their children. I'm guessing three died very young, as they gave latter children the same names...

Also cant find Thomasina's death date.

Any help with any of these would be fab or if anyone can point me in a different direction?

Much thanks
