No problem, George, though I can't understand why we can't locate them on a census anywhere. I think the burials I found in the Richmond area are distinct possibilities but it's difficult without some idea of their birth years.

Best wishes

Kim

William was christened in Middleton Tyas 1/1/1826.
Thomas and Anne married Middleton Tyas 1/1/1825.

That's great, thanks, George. There was no criticism intended at all, so I'm sorry if it sounded that way...it's just that dates, even if fairly rough, help when searching.

I'm looking for you now, though the only William Allison I've found so far born around the right time is one baptised in Middleton-on-Teesdale on 28 March 1827....but the transcript says his father was called William. Mother was Ann, though.

Will report back later

Hi
I am sorry for the lack of information all i know is from family legend. My Great Grandfather William Simpson Allison was born c1826 and came to Ireland from Yorkshire in or around the middle 1870's, he worked for the railways here. In 1876 he married an Emily Colville in Enniskillen Registry Office, on his certificate he mentioned he was a widower his father being a Thomas Allison who was a Whitesmith unfortunately no place of birth. William then travelled around Ireland working on the railways finally ending up living in Belfast, he died in 1902. I got some information saying that he may have been born in Middleton Tyas thats where im thinking his parents may have lived and died.

Hope this is helpful

Hi Kim

That is why I asked the question as not finding them in the right area either

I wondered about the possible marriage in 1856 but in Pocklington registration district.

Think we need some more info from the poster

George - are you sure about Middleton Tyas? Could you please tell us a little more about them - birth years and places etc?

I'm having trouble locating them even on a census...

Age of this Thomas Allison at death was 78 years...should have put it in last post. Do you know birth year of Ann? At present I'm looking between 1880 and 1890 and no-one is jumping out at me.

Just as well really :-D
