I am trying to trace my Great Great GrandFathers family details. What I do have is his son's details, Joseph Jones who was born on the 3rd of April 1820, he married Elizabeth Hughes (born 8th April 1822) in the village of Toll End, Tipton, Staffordshire 13th April 1839. They along with their son John Jones emigrated to New Zealand from Graves End London 5th July 1840 on the ship "Martha Ridgeway" Can anyone help me with John Jones senior, his wife and their children, many thanks. |

Take a look here for West Bromwich parish registers. Just a possibility: |

The freereg site doesn't have the Jones-Hughes marriage. If you have a copy of the 1839 marriage certificate, it should surely have his father's name and occupation? It would confirm whether or not the freereg baptism is the correct one and help to track the family in the census and other records. |

But Peter says the father's name is John, Ann. If he already has, or obtains the son's marriage certificate, it should confirm that. The date of the one on freereg is a concern but as we've found out (usually at great expense) they weren't always too good with dates. |
