	Theresa had a middle name according to the 1911 census:- CHAPPELL, William Henry Head Married M 42 1869 Porter Fa;mouth Cornwall CHAPPELL, Theresa May Wife Married 20 years F 41 1870 Sweing Machinist Plymouth Devon CHAPPELL, Dorothy May Daughter Single F 17 1894 Genl Servant Domestic Plymouth Devon CHAPPELL, Marian Daughter Single F 16 1895 Genl Servant Plymouth Devon CHAPPELL, Edward Percy Son Single M 11 1900 School Plymouth Devon CHAPPELL, William Henry Son Single M 5 1906 School Plymouth Devon CHAPPELL, Ronald Victor Son Single M 4 1907 Plymouth Devon 7 children born to the marriage. 5 alive and 2 have died. Address: 6 Skardon Court Plymouth Reference: RG14PN13000 RG78PN749 RD276 SD3 ED24 SN295 I can't find a marriage for them on Findmypast. Perhaps they never actually married. Kath. x

	The birth may not have been registered as it was before 1875 when penalties were introduced for not registering a birth. Before this date many births were not registered. I think you will have to get one of the children's birth certificates for Theresa's full name. Kath. x

Member Since: May 2008 Posts: 176 Send Message	I have now got the birth cert of one of William and Theresea's children. Theresas maiden name was Collier. Still cant find a marriage though. On the birth cert the father is named as Harry Chappell but still with the same occupation.

Can't find a Theresa Collier in any earlier census. Although she gave Collier as maiden name when birth registsred but perhaps that was actually a previous married name?

Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 1 Send Message	Theresa May Collier daughter of Robert & Jane Collier was born on 1st May 1870 and baptised on 31st July 1872 at Emmanuel Church, Compton Gifford, Devon I found this posting because I was stuck as to what happened to Theresa as I could find no death, marriage or trace of her on later census records.
