Certainly his father's service records are on FMP - 8 pages - refers to his having lost an arm at Inkerman. I thought he might have been in the Coldstream Guards with my ggrandfather but they weren't in at the same time. |

Oddly, although his Boer War medal awards are on Ancestry, his service records aren't on FMP...though it looks like those of other members of his family might be. Weird.... |

ellieathome yes that will be him thank you, his dad was a coldstream guard until he lost his arm so there are strong millitary connections. |

Because Curds is such an unusual name I've been able to trace back Albert's family but Harriet can only be guess work. If I remember correctly, Albert Edward BLAKE was with Margaret Curds on the 1901 so I'm pretty certain I've given Albert Edward CURDS the correct parents |

I've tried a search on all marriages for albert curds and variants (Curd, Card, Cardus etc) marrying a Blake but to no avail. I'm going to see if I can find his service record as he was in the Boer War and see if there is a clue there. |
