What is Robert's father's name on the marriage certificate? It isn't John, too, is it? I have sometimes heard of a vicar copying the same first name for both fathers or for father and groom, just because of lack of concentration when filling out the certificate. |

Meant a second marriage because of the difference in his age and gaps in the ages of the children. Looks like his first wife Jane had died after 1861. |

It just says labourer. The witnesses are John Buchanan and Elizabeth Jane Buchanan. |
