Find Ancestors

I have been trying for ages to find more about this man,but not really got very far
His name was Simon Rees born 1830c. somewhere????
Who I think is him on the 1841 census was born in Pembrokeshire and lives in Kenarth,Newcastle Emlyn.
1851, if this is the same person, says born Penrith lives Aberdare
Now I know the following ones are definitely him.
1861 Mistranscribed as RISE lives Regents Pk London..born South Wales
1871 Lives Kentish Town born Cumberland.
His marriage gives his father as William Rees,a farmer.
I wondered if someone with the actual census could look and see if the 1841/1851 were copied wrongly onto the Genes records???
Or,is there a birth for Simon on parish records?
I am really stuck,don't know whether to look in England or Wales for his parents!!!

Right. Firstly - how do you know the 1861 and 1871 are the same person? South Wales and Cumberland - quite a discrepancy there!

1871 she is alone and Simon seems to be in the workhouse infirmary.He died in 1872.

I use the GR census,I wondered if it was transcribed correctly..or do they just copy it from another site?

Occupation in 1851 for the one in Aberdare is GROCER - Shopman

he seems to be in the same household as Sarah Watts aged 45 of Ind means ,and poss her daughter Elizabeth aged 3

The confusion with regards to his birthplace may arise from the fact that there is a PENRITH in Cumberland...............as well as the lesser-known one in Pembrokeshire

If he was in the Workhouse, and gave his birthplace as Penrith, it would be safe to think that it would have been assumed that he meant the one in Cumberland

Thank you.That is him on the 1861..
The other 1851 census could be him.. i just looked for people the same age as he gave in 1861/71 but of course,it probably isn't exactly right.

As advised - GR do NOT have records, nor do they transcribe them.

There are far better options than GR for census searches..............

Well,in 1861 he was a policeman and in 1871 a laundreyman...so he seems to have changed jobs a bit
