Lindsey - it was the right Hannah - came this morning - now have to hunt for mother! All the ages of the children are incorrect on census and birthplace of Robert is incorrect also but am sure I have the two boys now - have to get their certs to confrim.

You will not believe this I actually sent away for this earlier this aftyernoon!

I rang Prestwich Registry Office and discovered that since June of this year you cannot apply to a regisgtry office with all the details but with the proviso - father must be Joe Bloggs and none other. It has always worked for me but now it is catch 22!

There is also a birth reg. Preswich Dec 1901 for Samuel Edward.

There is certainly something strange about the marriage as Samuel Snr says he is marr but not how long and he is in a lodging house with 3 children????

If the first child was hers then she picked up with Samuel later , and had more children, then walked out ?

in 1911 found a Sameul aged 36 marr 10 years wife Elizabeth and one child Samuel aged 1. Samuel Snr is a railway foreman.

This one was born in Belper but his age is 10 years out and they have no children with them. This is 1901 but I haven't located them in 1911 yet. He is a coal miner/hewer.

Great minds think alike - just been tracking Samuel and Harriet through all the census - not my Samuel. Just found a Samuel b 1860 - son of Mark and Hannah - now my Samuel had a daughter named Hannah.

Just wish I knew what info is true on the 1911 census - not all of it is!

On 1911 census he appears in Co. Durham as a coalminer/hewer aged 45 b. Belpher Co Derbyshire. This is the only census I can find him on. I cannot even be sure of his date of birth. I know there are mispelts in census but surely not in four of them?
