Please may i ask for your expert help in finding my direct ancestor Elizabeth Knowles. She was born c 1807 and appears of died 1856 having married a John Ratcliffe some time around 1829 when the first child was born. I believe from one of the census she was born Worthington, Cheshire, England.

Looks good if they had a son John in 1809

If you could view the marriage record, it may just give Elizabeth's father's name.

is this not the same as yesterdays thread where we proved from the maiden name of John, Fred & Ellen's mother on lancsbmd was Lowe (not Knowles) and the marriage details between John Ratcliffe & Elizabeth Lowe were given you from lan-opc along with the birth years of another 2 children

If this is not correct then that 1851 census is probably not your family

They were all registered in North Meols where many of you other queries come from
