why on earth has brummiejan's post been RR'd???????

Elizabeth Catchpole married a Cottrill became a widow then re-married a Gosling at an old age. Died in Crondall street 1927 death cert verified by son Albert Cottrill. Buried in AbneyPark Cemetery.Known by the Salvation Army Corps as The Saint of Crondall Street Shoreditch and all information and cutting refer to her as Mrs Cottrill.She was highly respected by her peers including Bramwell Booth and wife.
Many Cottrills lived in the Hackney area of London where Citadel was erected also Hospital for unmarried mothers and offices for rehabilitating ex prisoners in Downs Road Hackney. Am am related she was my gt gt Aunt.

and you SHOULD find a table with names of all people named Gosling buried in Abney Park


and you will find this

The explanation of the table is ............

Each line in the table will contain the following six fields:-

1. The Surname and either the Forenames or Initials.


2. The Date of the Burial.


3. The Age of the person.
(If known)


4. The letter followng the two numerics indicate the following:-

"y" = Years


5. A burial reference number.

This is the number in the burial register for numbers from 1 to 113828. For numbers above 113828 (113829 through 195217) they are the burials numbers in the registers marked as R/N 3829 to R/N 85217. (That is R/N nn = 110000 + nn) So to convert add 110000 inplace of R/N or subtract 110000 and write R/N in front of the number. (This may be just R in some of out listings)

So sorry not quite sure how the system works.Did find her marriage cert thankyou for that info but still cannot locate her burial place. All salvationist historical write ups refer to her as Elizabeth Cottrill- even the article Sent toGlory commemorating her
life and works. Still stuck on this one.Believe she died in 1927 Crondall street London and had reverted to the name Cottrill..

But isn't her name now Gosling (see one of my posts above).

Hi Caz.

If you are only looking for her burial, better to put 'burial lookup please' as heading rather than her name, and put her name in the text. Some people have NBI info so it will catch their eye. Forget the maiden name, it just complicates things. Put the year she died if you know it.
If you are after other info. you need to specify what!

Does anyone have info on Elizabeth -where buried? I know died Crundwell Street London in abject poverty.Former founder member of Salvation Army Womens Refuge-Whitechapel "Sent to Glory" by the Salvation Army 1920/30.
Her husband was Thomas Cottrill son of Job Cottrill and Dinah Race.
Any info appreciated.
