Correction - sorry, Frank is listed in the Mansfield Union Workshouse in the 1891 census, i.e. at the same time his father was in prison, aged 10. |

In the 1881 census, Isaac Armstrong b.1855 in Mansfield, the brother of my 3x great grandfather was listed living at Wood Court in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire with his wife Ann and 3 kids. In the 1891 census, he is listed as an inmate at Dartmoor prison which from what I can make out was for those convicted of more serious crimes and given lengthy sentences or hard labour. |
