Kucinta - I now have the death certificate which has not made the link I was hoping for. However is does reveal that he had a son - Vernon Hooson Jones.

I think the son was born in 1943-1945 in Hertforshire. From your accessible records could you lookup the birth date,mothers maiden name and subsequently the marriage of Ernest Hooson Jones which would have take place between 1935 and 1945. On either record I would be interested in Ernest's occupation.
