What was his occupation?

My foster mothers cousin has him in her tree - but no evidence to show where this information came from.. Thanks

I have a copy of Annes Marraige Certificate - her father is John Deane Labourer but that is as far as I have got.

I have just read the other posts - which I should have done first! I believe there are 2 James Tophams born about the same time but the details of the one on my tree which you have access to are the correct ones. On the marraige cert he was a widower but I dont have details of his first wife
