Find Ancestors

Can anyone help please. For the past 2 months I have been trying to get hold of my grandmothers Birth Certificate. I have her perants names, but the GRO cannot find any record. I have looked on the BMD records and still no luck. Any suggestions please. Mary.

Hello Marie. Her parent's were William Alexander Wood and Mary Ann Bowness. I have her death certificate which states her birthday as 3rd \aug 1888 and born in Everton.

Is this them in 1891, with 2 'sons' from a previous marriage? That could explain that Mary Anne senior is not Bowness by birth so Mary junior will have a different mother's maiden name?

Death certificates will not usually specify birth place. Do you mean she died in Everton?

Just read MarieCeleste, with correct Father of Bowness, so that theory out. However the 2 sons still appear to be from a different marriage.

Marie, she married a Oliver Alfred King 4th April 1910, Birmingham, but on the certificate her father is just Alexander Wood not william alexander. But I know he was deffinately William Alexander.
