possible??...but with moore being quite a common name its a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack...

As for getting the death certs of martha and william, if you have their addresses from the 1861 census, with a bit of luck that might be place of death on the cert. which would confirm that they are the correct people....the informant on a death cert. can also be useful as well, as its often a relative....

Hello Nickydownsouth

thank you for your help I think you are right I have looked for her death William and Martha ( Millington) where on the 1861 census I could not find them after this so looked in deaths I found a William Millington died 1stQ 1871 age 81 Dudley Staffs born abt 1790 I then found a Martha Millington 2ndQ 1866 Dudley Staffs age 83 so that would make her birth 1783/4 which would be the one you gave me I'm not sure if I get the certificates if they would help if they are the correct people
Also if you can help me again :-) On the 1851 census There's a William Moor 18 b abt 1833 in Wellington Shropshire as Grandson??
Then on the 1861 he is listed as a lodger and his name spelt with the (E)Moore but I cannot find his birth if I could it may give me a son of Martha from her 1st marriage??

I just thought the Martha Collins born Wednesbury details that I posted were quite a strong possibility of being "your" Martha.

Your martha was born Wednesbury and married someone Moore, the Martha I posted was born same place and married a william Moore by the looks of it.

The 5 Baptisms with parents William and Martha Moore I posted were at the same church as that marriage and fit in perfectly with the Marriage date of William Moor and Martha Collins.

Just didn`t want you discounting it because the age was slightly out.

Keep this in mind for the 1841 census -

Note:
In the 1841 Census a policy of rounding down ages was in place. As such, people aged:

•15-19 were recorded as 15
•20-24 were recorded as 20
•25-29 were recorded as 25
•30-34 were recorded as 30
•35-39 were recorded as 35

Nickydownsouth on the message you sent earlier you said she may have said she was younger so I looked at the census again and they all say different 1841 b abt 1796 1851 b abt 1791 then on the 1861 b abt 1790 so 1784 is not to far away

Hello,Nickydownsouth

If that was her husband he would have been a lot older than she was when he died in 1818 she would have been about 24? still I suppose it is possible

I know this would make Martha a bit older than you thought were this proven to be her, but it was common for women to say they were younger than they actually were if their husbands were younger.. so she may have "dropped" a few years when she married William Millington.

It sounds llike it maybe her although on the 1861 Census she was born in Wednesbury but WM was also from Sedgley so could be a family link??

the only children I have are on the 1841 census the youngest born about 1833 so that would not help find her maiden name

Hello,

I have found the marriage of William Millington b 1791 and Martha Moore b1794 The marriage was in 1819 at St Peters Wolverhampton Staffs it gives Martha as a widow in 1819 she would have been about 23 although her birth varies on the 3 census I have found her on
I cannot find another marriage for her, anyone any ideas how to find her.
I've been looking for Martha Moore but it now seems that would be her 1st married name not her maiden name
