Son John Woods b: 1887 (b: Ince, Wigan) m Elizabeth Barber in 1909 Stockport
Have cert... states father JAMES WOODS 'DECEASED' 'GREENGROCER'

Can see James living in Lancashire in 1891 in Wigan with a wife ALICE (b:INCE, WIGAN)
He states his occupation as 'MINER'

In 1901 James living in Lancashire in Manchester
He states his occupation as 'PUBLICAN'

By 1911 the family are living in 29 King Street East, Stockport,
Wife Alice a Widow ? Think her husband died 1906
How can I tell if he was a 'GREENGROCER' and how did a 'MINER' suddenly become a 'PUBLICAN' and hence a 'GREENGROCER' ?

Also son John is clearly born in 1887 yet in his army papers he is down as born in the year of 1885 - why would he state in each census born 1887 yet put in army attestation papers born 1885....have I the right John as this is the man I am essentially researching and have had to search his father James to find him (not doing too bad but bit confused with the greengrocer job of his dad) Any thoughts? :-S
