Mike, thank you for your reply, Margaret Davie first husband- Daniel Holland, b1884 Skelmersdale Lancashire d 1916 Home England, marriage 1911 Wigan, one child, Ellen.

Margaret Davies 2cnd marriage-William Clamp b 1889 Warwickshire d 1962 Doncaster st Yorkshire, m 1934 Doncaster.

4 sons, 2 of which surname Clamp, 1 Holland, and Bill/William,d 2002, he was born to my g.uncle WilliamClamp b1889 and Margaret Davies, my info comes from one of the son's b 1928, because of the marriage date Bill was registered as Holland, he knows Bill died 2002, but that is all the info he has.

this is what i am looking for, birth and any details about Bill/William, complicated i know, the mind boggles :-S Thanks, Pam, gatelady.

If this is Daniel's death:

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005

Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1933
Age at Death: 48

... might that be why Margaret and William Clamp didn't marry until 1934?

So how do you know this is not Daniel's child ?
Be interesting to see what's written on the birth cert for father.

am going back to Margaret Davies b 1889-1963, unrelated to previous enquiry, Margaret's first husband was Daniel Holland b1884 Skemersdale, Lancashire, this is complicated !! Margaret and William Clamp b1889 warwick, had a child out of wedlock, Bill Clamp birth unknown, died ab 2002, was registered in the name of Bill Holland, although born to William Clamp, , can anybody solve this please :-S also, i do not know Margaret Davies parents ?? i know is a tall order, maybe too much, but am clutchin at straws now.

thanks

Dont see how anyone can tell you that.

You could try the local records office to see if he is on any electoral rolls .

Pam, have you tried looking for matches on here by using 'search trees' above? You might find other descendants if you are lucky.
Otherwise, the only other thing I can think of is to check electoral registers for the addresses in the two places he lived and see when he was living there. This is really mainly useful 1919 onwards when all men over 21 got the vote. This has to be done in person at the nearest main library, though you can ask the staff for a lookup - they will probably charge.
