mike i had not thought she could already hae been married, thats a good one for me to follow up
it would make sense as my familly say she had a child already when she met john graham, they thought she had the child out of wedlock though

Hmmm does anyone know whether "Formerly" Jones always means nee /maiden name Jones.

It's just that I've got something nagging in the back of my mind, one of my Scottish ancestors was widowed and was referred to formerly........

Mind you it also listed her maiden name.

Glitter...such a pity about that 1892 marriage. I probably could have looked it up tomorrow.

thanks kay i neer thought to check that date from the 18 years married in the 1911 census

i have the birth certificate for my grandfather Robert graham born manchester oct 1904

it states mother as magie graham formely jones

father as john graham

we do know from familly that his wife maggie was from wales

1901 and 1911 census records i beleie i have the correct famiily as we know the children are correct

The 1911 census gives,

married-------18 years.......

Going to rule out that baptism as found a possible on 1891 with mother Maggie b1861

Couldn't see a marriage in Scotland for John Graham and Margaret Jones on Scotlandspeople.
