I am trying to read the place of Birth for Harry Hedley 1899 (parent William and Jane), it's transcribed as Nitton on Forest but when iv tried looking this up i'v got no hits.
I was told he died in 1918 so was looking at ww1 deaths, so trying to match details up, his birth ref is BIRTH, Oct, 1898, Easingword, 9d, 419

looks like Nitton on Forest on the actual sheet

Newton on Ouse is in the registration district of Easingwold

Sutton on Forest Yorkshire just south of Easingwold

Yeah it's not easy to read and when I'v googled both places neither come up.
I have found a ww1 death that says Stockton-On-The-Forest but on the census looks nothing like that.

thank you to confuse the matter even more the Harry Headley on the 1911 census from Sutton on Forest is living with an arthur and bell west and it says step son, but for William and Jane on the 1911 census it did says 12 children, 12 living and I'v got 13, will have to keep searching

if you have found the 12 for Wiliam & Jane then would seem William isnt theirs

Looks like Harry is the illegimate son of Isabel daughter of William & Jane

Fred is their youngest one still at home on the 1911 and he was older than Harry, All points to Harry not being their son but the son of daughter Isabel

if he died in WW1 the its most likely one of these

looks like the right Harry - Note the residence address Stanford Bride (misspelt) and thats where he was with Bell and Arthur on the 1911 ie ( copied from the 1911

Yeah that def looks like whats happened with his parents/ grandparents, doesn't help that Isabel is going by yet another different variation of her name in 1911, we'v had Isabel, Isabella and then Isabell on a marriage reg and then Headley being spelt wrong in 1901 (missing the a ) lol
