If you know anything else about Frank Pearson - age, occupation - then I'm happy to take a look in the US records.

MarieCeleste,
Yes Elsie Mackereth Pearson was my nan...my dads mam...It seems a bit strange to me that she called her daughter by her 2nd husband Frank her 1st husbands surname. I was born in 1956 and just had one name Elaine then about 3 years ago so the Mackereth bit didnt die out I added Mackereth by deed poll.Im hoping my grand daughter whos 5 will add Mackereth to her name when shes older .Ive asked her and she said of course I will Nanny lol. :-D

MarieCelest,
Ive just found a message from somebody a while ago about the elusive Frank

Frank Pearson born 1851 in Wigton.

Married Margaret Mackereth 24th December 1892.He was 40 when he married her

On the marriage cert it gives Franks dad as William Pearson (deceased)
Im sorry thats about all I have on him. I know when his daughter my nan got married she put her father as Frank byt had him as deceased?. Now from what I know no one knew he was dead as far as everyone was concerned he just packed up and left Margaret and the kids.

Thanks again everyone :-)
