Charles William was my Grandmas brother. He was born in Todmorden in 1893 and served in the Lancashire Fusiliers in WW1. His parents were Annie Crowther and Ernest Hirst.
He died in Jan 1925. Id like to send for his birth and death certs. Please can someone send me the GRO numbers

Thanks everyone.
Choccy, not sure thats his death. His parents both lived in Bury and he is buried there too. I can find no family connection to that area unless there was a convalecence home there, maybe he was injured in the war.
The only way to be sure is to send for the death cert.

quite a lot of people from the Todmorden area moved to Blackpool in their later years but are buried in their birth town or where their parents were buried.

on the Todmorden site there are a few transcribed burials where the person 'died in Blackpool' (which came under reg district Fylde)
