does anyone have any connection with the Heard family who were living at 10 Janeway Street Bermondsey in 1941? All we know for definite was that Walter was the household head and Sidney George Heard was one of the sons. Sidney was living there at the time of his marriage to Constance Mary Quinlan in 1941.

Can anyone help with my query, please? We've got a Florence Violet Heard born in 1898 to Walter & Ada Heard. There's only one marriage of that name in 1918 to a Jack ADW Dinnis. But I cannot find any death record of Florence.

The only other info we have is that she was recorded as living with her parents in 1956 at Macks Road, SE London, but was not there in 1960. We're wondering if she'd divorced Jack and reverted back to her maiden name. Strange about no death record though.

Is there anywhere we can check for divorces?

Any help (again!) will be hugely appreciated.

I think that you may be getting your wires crossed somewhere. Walter and Ada did not marry until 1912.

Oh, crumbs! of course I knew Walter & ada married in 1912. It was Walter's father, Eli, I had got mixed up with. Eli &Harriet had a daughter Florrie in 1900 & I had assumed (wrongly) she was the Florence V who lived at Macks road in 1956.

As the hedgehog said as he climbed off the scrubbing brush, "We all make mistakes" ;-)

If anyone has access to electoral rolls, is it possible to find out who was living at 10 Janeway Street Bermondsey between 1921 and 1936.

In 1936 Walter Charles Heard and his wife, Ada, were recorded as living there but I'm wondering what year they moved to that address.
