	Thank you worth a try What about marriage /birth records I have a family living in Scotland 1881 but the parents were born & married in Ireland and most of their children were born there But I don't know which part ???

	Most Irish census records pre 1901 were unfortunately destroyed. Full government censuses were taken of the whole island in 1821, 1831, 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 1901, and 1911. The first four, for 1821, 1831, 1841, and 1851, were largely destroyed in 1922, in the fire at the Public Record Office; surviving fragments are detailed under the county source-lists. Those for 1861 1871 1881 and 1891 were completely destroyed earlier, by order of the government.
	Researching: Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

	Could anyone tell me if their is a site for the 1871 Irish census, a free one would be great
