Gut feeling, I don't think any of those Johns are yours. I would go for a certifiacte of either Joseph or Christopher. |

Thanks for the above info. I do think I should buy Johns birth certificate to confirm his parents. It will be helpful if only for that. |

Im pretty sure, William died in 1878 down the mines but Im not sure how to find the irish census. I will get Johns birth certificate, as that will be a start. Thanks so much for all your help |

Sorry, William the son. Can't find anything on the father but if the birth certificate has the place of William and Ann's marriage it may help to place them. |

Do you have the birth certificates of either John or William. Scottish birth certificates usually have the date and place of parents marriage. |
