I have sadly been unsuccessful at finding the marriage information of the Clements family in Wisbech Cambsridgeshire and wondered if you might be able to help, please? I have John Clements born c1773 Emneth Norfolk who married an unknown Alice b. c1771 Walsoken Cambs and their son John Clements 1802 - 1890 Emneth who married a Martha Unknown b. c1806 St Germans, Norfolk. I would love to know who they married and when, if this is possible . . . Many thanks Melanie

	Working backwards... Have you found John and Martha in census? Did they have children after 1837?... If so, a birth certificate would give the mother's maiden name. Gwyn

Hi Gwyn in Kent - Yes I do have John Clements and Martha unknown on census returns from 1841 to 1861 . 1841 -1851 - Elm Road, Wisbech St Peter and 1861 West side of canal, Wisbech St Peter. 	In your post you say that:- John Clements 1802 - 1890 Emneth who married a Martha Unknown b. c1806 St Germans, Norfolk. The marriage I posted states Martha was born 1804 which is about correct date, and if she was born in Norfolk, then it do you not think that it is possible the couple were also married in Norfolk? I wouldn't dismiss it completely. To be sure of Martha's maiden name then you need to buy a copy of the birth cert. of one of their children.

	Absolutely no offence taken Melanie. Just wanted to put a bit of explaination to my theory of the marriage taking place in Norfolk. You can never be too careful in this family tree lark otherwise you can very easily go barking up the wrong one. Catherine :-D
