MarieCeleste Report 12 May 2012 17:52

The marriage took place 21 Jan 1901 at Strand Register office, witnessed by Charles Abingdon and Florence Crew.

Edward Gray, bachelor aged 22, a florist of 19 Whitehart Street. Father Edward Gray, market porter.

Margaret Hall, spinster aged 19 of 22 Whitehart Street. Father Samuel Hall (deceased), market porter.

Although there's no middle name on the marriage certificate it's attached to Edward Joseph Gray.

Jean Report 12 May 2012 17:20

Trying to find the birth date and place of my Grandfather. I know he was married in the Strand Registry Office in 1901 to Margaret J Hall and that he died at 77a Highgate Hill in1933.
Have tried all the London area's Registry Offices where he lived and the British Library but have had no luck. His children's birth certs and other records indicate he was a florist and /or a street cleaner.
He joined the army in August 1914, and at the end of WW1 was pensioned out of the army as an acting C.S.M in the 366 Labour Battalion. His army records hold no mention of his birth date or place.
Any help would be appreciated.
