Thank you so much...it was a long shot that they belonged o a branch of my Alderney to Yorkshire Mesny family but I'm not sure yet.

Thanks again.

There is also a record of Philip Mesney born 1866 in the chelsea Pensioners recordson Ancestry , is this a valuable source of information in your opinion?

Thank you jerseylily, I can't link this family at the moment, it was hunch really as Giffard Dejersey Mesny from alderney married in Yorkshire and I have lost one of his children....its one of those in law brnaches that just fascinates you but is indirectly related to the tree if you know what I mean?

I know exactly what you mean - I've got a mystery 2nd cousin that I'd love to know what happened to.

Anyway, on the off-chance that Thomas might be connected here's his marriage record - at least it might enable you to rule him out.

26/12/1892 at St Helier Town Church

Thomas Henry Mesny, aged 28, bachelor, occupation Tailor, living in St Helier, born in Alderney. Father John Mesny, Shoemaker
to
Sarah Ellen Wright, aged 21, spinster, living in St Helier, born in Leeds. Father James Wright, Baker

The witnesses were James Wright and Charles P(?) Mesny
