Find Ancestors

Can anyone help please.
I have a George Steele born approx 1847 - Merton - Surrey. George's parents were Richard Steele and Jane (Ward ) Steele.
George has come up in the 1851 census but nothing until he married an Eliza ? 0n the 11th August 1873 in Victoria Australia.

What I would like to know is when did he leave the Uk and went to Australia. Have searched with little success
Unfortunately there is no other information :-( :-(

Are you working backwards from one of his descendents, as there is another marriage - may be the same person, then again it might be a different George.
