It's a long gap from that marriage till that birth in 1918, I would hazard that they were out of the country, there is a C Wortley travelling to Aus in 1907 but no wife with him so that doesn't help much.

Cyrus Percy Wortley
England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 23 Feb 1880 Birmingham,? Warwick,? England

I'm meeting up with Zena and Jan in Birmingham next week for a session at the Birmingham Central Library. Much of what I am looking for took place at Aston Juxta aka St.Peter & St. Paul, Aston.

I will keep a look out for his christening.

Jill, have you chaecked which days the Library is open now.

Birming Central Library will be moving soon. The top floors are only open on a few days a week. Pretty sure that they are closed Monday and Tuesday, and I believe at least one more day. (Can't remember which)

Hope that you find the info you are looking for.

Hi Tess,

Thanks for the good wishes.

No problem if it's closed. I'll just have a mega strop, on the steps, in front of everyone. It will be totally embarrassing. And I'll be able to blame that Jan for deciding that a Wednesday would be okay :-D

Hi Jan. Waving at you.

You are sure it's open on Wednesday. Aren't you? :-P

So long as I find a bit of info, I'll be happy. So many of hubby's lot and my lot were all around the area of Aston and the times I see Aston Juxta or St. P & St.P makes me think that all these people must have known each other - at least by sight. :-D

I'm hoping to go into town on Wednesday (30th).
If well enough I will check out the library, as it is close to where I'm going.

I wanted to check if my great-grand mother made a will, having just recently found her date and place of death, so it won't be a wasted journey.
